Salary:                                            N3,330,000 per annum (gross)

Job Purpose:

The primary objective of the social media Assistant is to develop and implement effective social media strategies, create compelling content, and manage online platforms to raise awareness, drive engagement, and support fundraising initiatives for WCS Nigeria Program.

Major Responsibilities:

The Social Media Assistant will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with WCS Nigeria Program goals.
  • Create and curate engaging content (text, images, videos) for various platforms, ensuring it reflects WCS's mission and resonates with target audiences.
  • Manage and update WCS Nigeria Program's social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media trends, track analytics, and provide regular reports to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and content.
  • Collaborate with the Country Director to align social media efforts with broader communication strategies.
  • Engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and foster a sense of community on social media platforms.
  • Stay informed about relevant environmental and conservation issues in Nigeria to inform content creation.

Minimum Requirements and Job Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing social media accounts for non-profit organizations or conservation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of wildlife conservation and environmental issues in Nigeria.
  • Proficient in using social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging and shareable content.
  • Familiarity with digital design software.
