The Nigeria Program of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is currently seeking suitable candidates for the following job opportunities:

Job Description

Location:             Yankari Game Reserve, Bauchi State

Reports To:        Head of Monitoring, Evaluation, Adaptation and Learning and Yankari Landscape Director

Start date:          1 August 2022

Duration:            Five years

Working with local communities and organizations, that knowledge is applied to address species, habitat and ecosystem management issues critical to improving the quality of life of poor rural people whose livelihoods depend on the direct utilization of natural resources.

Main Responsibilities

To collect required data in the field to inform the WCS Monitoring, Evaluation, Adaptation and Learning (MEAL) programme.  Candidates will need to demonstrate clearly that they have the necessary experience and skills to collect and collate data in the field and contribute to the process of writing reports. 

Position Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience in natural resource management.
  • Relevant University Degree preferably in natural resource management.
  • Ability to develop clear goals and identify priority activities and assignments.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection and community outreach.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills as well as demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
  • Proven ability to manage large and varied workloads and deal constructively with diverse people.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision.
  • Pro-active, stable, and robust character and a good team-player.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Hausa
