Purpose and Responsibilities:

The Internship program is to provide graduates with practical hands-on training, learning, and working experience opportunities, while allowing interns to apply their skills and knowledge in a real-world working environment.

The program aims to help the successful intern applicant explore career opportunities, develop new skills and competencies, and build professional working relationships that enhances their employability.

Position Description

The Finance Intern will support the finance department with general day-to-day tasks and specific documentation responsibilities. The incumbent will focus on organising documents, reviewing documents, scanning and uploading documents, labelling of files, archiving and retrieval of finance documents, as well as supporting in handling basic finance tasks to ensure overall efficiency of financial records in compliance with WCS policies and donor requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Document Management &amp;amp; Filing


 Ensure that documents are adequately arranged in the correct convention and in an orderly manner.
 Ensure that all documents are fully reviewed, dated, approved, and stamped.
 Follow up on documentation approvals, where necessary.
 Assist in filing finance documents, both hard and soft copies.
 Maintain an orderly, retrievable, and accessible filing system.
 Track all documents submitted to finance for payments.


Scanning, Uploading, &amp;amp; Document Review


 Scan and upload financial documents with an appropriate naming convention and document numbering.
 Trace all scanned documents to ensure that nothing is missing.
 Assist in organising scaned documnets in the share-drive to aid in easy and timely retrieval.
 Assist in following up with relevant staff to ensure complete transaction documentation.
 Support the finance officer in reviewing and tracking cash and travel advances.
 Verify that all supporting documents are complete before scanning and filing.


Other Responsibilities


 Assist program and operations staff in using correct activity codes and budget lines for transactions.
 Support the finance team during the month-end and year-end closures.
 Assist during auditing process and audit preparation.
 Perform other financial responsibilities as may be assigned by the Finance Officer or Finance Manager.

 A recent graduate of Accounting, Finance, Business Admin, or a related field.

The bidder is expected to visit the sites before returning the bids to be adequately informed of the situation at site. A bidder may apply for a particular lot or all the lots.

- Note that this contract will not be subject to price variation. You are expected to include a work plan that will be strictly followed in monitoring progress after the award of the contract.

- Contractors are free to make recommendations on the intended recommendation and how best to achieve value for money in a separate submission.

BID ADMINISTRATION

All requests for clarification and questions concerning this ITB must be submitted in writing no later than October 6th, 2025, via email to ngprocurement@wcs.org with the subject &amp;rdquo; RENOVATION OF KANYANG FIELD STATION, ANAPE COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL, AND ANAPE RANGER STATION, CROSS RIVER STATE

All complete Bids shall be submitted as an attached digital file to the submission email, including attachments, exhibits or appendices. Emails shall be submitted to: ngprocurement@wcs.org not later than Friday, 10th October 2025.

QUALIFICATION

All Bidders are expected to have the experience, resources, qualifications, and capacity to successfully meet the objectives of this ITB, including:


 Proficiency with similar projects.
 Experience in providing similar services.
 Appropriate technical expertise, staff capability, and fiscal resources.
 Registration with the corporate Affairs Commission/Form CAC2 and CAC7


BID CONTENT

Bids should be clear and concise and should be addressed in detail and with appropriate documentation for each of the items listed below. Bids that fail to do so may be disqualified as non-responsive. WCS may request clarification of any Bid during the evaluation process, but it is not bound to do so, and Bidder should not assume they will have any further opportunity to clarify their Bids after the Bid due date.

Each Bidder is requested to submit, on or before the submission deadline, a package containing:

1. Technical bid: Should include a brief company profile (not exceeding two pages), proposed approach and work plan, and evidence of at least three similar projects completed within the last two years. Also attach professional licenses/certificates, the CV of the Site Engineer, and a list of available equipment. Proof of work carried out in or around the identified locations will be considered an added advantage

2. Financial bid: A fully costed BoQ. Please note that WCS is exempted from VAT. However, a 5% withholding tax will be deducted from the total contract sum and remitted to the tax authorities using your TIN.

3. Copy of CAC registrations

4. Tax clearance certificate for the last two years

5. Bank reference letter

6. Client reference-name of organizations and contact details.

A. Evaluation criteria

The contract will be awarded to the bidder(s) determined to be the most responsive and responsible, offering best overall value.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF BID SUBMISSIONS

The following general conditions apply to all Bids submitted in response to any RFP issued by WCS.


 Non-Binding:


WCS&amp;rsquo;s solicitation of bids in response to any ITB does not commit WCS to award a contract, and this RFP is not an offer to enter into a contract for the services to be provided as described herein.


 Bid Materials and Costs:


WCS is not liable for any costs incurred in the preparation, submission or negotiation of a response to its ITB or incurred for any other purpose or reason in connection with the ITB. No materials submitted with this ITB will be returned.


 Confidentiality:


All information and material contained in any WCS ITB or issued by WCS or any of its agents as part of any WCS ITB process is confidential and is the exclusive property of WCS.


 Modifications:


As a condition of award, WCS may request any Bidder to make revisions, additions, or deletions to its Bid.


 Subcontractors:


After the contract, WCS will have no obligation, financial or otherwise, to any subcontractor of the awardee. Nevertheless, any subcontract will be required to be subject to and consistent with the prime contract between WCS and the awardee, and WCS may require any subcontract to include specific terms and conditions.


 Reserved Rights:


WCS at any time in its sole discretion may, without notice and without liability to any Bidder or any other party for their expenses incurred in the preparation of the responses hereto or otherwise, do any of the following:


 Amend or withdraw this ITB;
 Accept or reject any and all bid(s) received in response to this ITB.
 Award the contract to a Bidder other than the Bidder offering the lowest fee.
 Request additional materials and clarification or modification of any submitted Bid.
 Extend the time for submission of all Bids after notification to all prospective Bidders.
 Terminate negotiations with a selected Bidder and select another Bidder.
 Take such action as WCS deems appropriate if negotiations fail to result in a signed agreement within a reasonable amount of time.
 Terminate or modify the solicitation and selection process at any time and re-issue the solicitation to whomever WCS deems appropriate.


WCS has the right to vary any part of this ITB at the time of award if it becomes necessary.

WCS is value-added tax (VAT) exempted but carries out withholding tax (WHT)deductions on commercial transactions in compliance with relevant Nigerian laws.

Responsibilities:


 Coordinate the development and delivery of institutionalised training programs for law enforcement, criminal justice, and regulatory officers involved in CWT efforts in Nigeria. This includes overseeing subject matter experts and trainers in curriculum development and delivery, and managing the local online learning management system.
 In coordination with the global CWT Team, administer competency-based assessments for training participants and align the results with broader initiatives to evaluate progress in countering wildlife trafficking in Nigeria.
 Establish and manage a pool of local facilitators, trainers, and coaches to support program delivery and post-training follow-up.
 Utilise feedback and evaluation data to continuously iterate upon and improve the program.
 Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key CWT partners and stakeholders across Nigerian government agencies, NGOs, and international organisations, in particular UNODC.
 In coordination with the wider CWT team, contribute to research and analysis on CWT and other environmental crimes in Nigeria, such as the illegal wildlife trade, trafficking, and illegal logging.

Required skills and experience


 A university degree and a minimum of four years of professional experience in a relevant field (e.g., environmental crime, transnational crime prevention, adult learning, capacity building) within a relevant institution (e.g., NGO, intergovernmental organisation).
 Demonstrable experience in capacity building coordination, preferably with government enforcement agencies in the context of environmental crime.
 Proven understanding of the Nigerian law enforcement and criminal justice system, including its institutional structures and processes.
 Fluency in English is mandatory; professional proficiency in French is highly desirable.
 Strong critical thinking and adaptive management skills.
 Proven ability to rapidly acquire and apply new, complex skills.
 Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams. This includes a proven capacity to solve problems collaboratively, draft clear and concise analytical products, and deliver effective written and verbal presentations.
 High proficiency with standard software systems; familiarity with mobile technology, internet-based communication, and various messaging applications is essential.

Position Description

The Sustainable Commodities Technical Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day coordination and management of WCS&amp;rsquo;s sustainable commodity interventions in the Cross River Landscape, with a primary focus on sustainable cocoa. The role will support the implementation of integrated interventions aimed at improving the sustainability of cocoa production, protecting forests within and around protected areas, strengthening community-based natural resource management, and improving the coordination of supply chain sustainability efforts.  Provide technical input and guidance to field program staff on the design and implementation of sustainable cocoa interventions, at the farm, community and supply-chain levels.&amp;nbsp;
 Conduct regular field visits alongside field staff to engage with community members, resolve challenges, and ensure implementation matches project goals and timelines.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
 Contribute to mid- and long-term strategic planning for sustainable commodity program in the Cross River Landscape.&amp;nbsp;
 Support fundraising, partnership development, and investment planning efforts related to the long-term sustainability and commercial viability of the project.


Partnership management&amp;nbsp;


 Work with the Landscape Director and Global Sustainable Commodity Lead to manage relationships with private sector and government partners, ensuring timely project communication, production of deliverables, and grant requirements.&amp;nbsp;
 Facilitate internal WCS communications between the field, Calabar, regional and NY teams to ensure alignment on project implementation and reporting.
 Maintain working relationships with private sector actors, existing national and international NGOs and technical partners in-country, national delegation offices of bilateral and multi-lateral donors, and foster, where possible, the participation of existing and new partners in relevant aspects of program implementation and strategy development.

Project Management and Reporting&amp;nbsp;


 Oversee the coordination of multiple interconnected projects and grants related to sustainable commodity and market-based interventions.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
 Coordinate the implementation of sustainable commodity interventions, ensuring alignment between WCS field staff, global technical staff, and relevant partners.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
 Lead the development and monitoring of detailed project work plans, timelines, and milestones in close collaboration with country program staff, regional staff and the global sustainable commodity lead. Ensure timely and high-quality data collection from the field projects.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
 Ensure timely and high-quality communications and reporting for donors and private sector partners, technical briefs, and public-facing communication materials. This includes report writing and tracking indicators and outcomes in line with donor and WCS expectations.  Work with the WCS Nigeria Program Manager to monitor and track project progress, with the WCS Nigeria Finance Director to track budgets, and regular engagement with the Nigeria staff, including M&amp;amp;E, field coordinators, and rights and communities.&amp;nbsp;

Minimum Requirements:&amp;nbsp;


 At least four years&amp;rsquo; experience working in the private sector in a cocoa procurement or sustainability position in Nigeria, preferably with direct experience in Cross River State.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
 Experience in project management, including administration, developing work plans, and leading reporting processes.&amp;nbsp;
 Experience working with actors along the cocoa value chain, including cocoa &amp;amp; chocolate companies, NGOs, government, communities and other partners.&amp;nbsp;
 Excellent data aggregation and report writing skills to donors and other partners.&amp;nbsp;
 Demonstrated ability to coordinate across teams to ensure timely communication, development of inputs, and completion of deliverables.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain relationships with government, private sector, civil society, and community members.&amp;nbsp;
 An advanced degree in sustainable development, entrepreneurship, project management, conservation, or another field relevant to the position&amp;#39;s responsibilities is preferred.&amp;nbsp;
 Excellent organisational skills.
 Proven ability to work effectively and flourish in a multi-cultural team.&amp;nbsp;
 Results-focused attitude to work.
 Excellent, fluent spoken and written English.
 Willingness and ability to travel to field projects in Cross River State.
 Familiarity with climate finance, nature-based solutions, deforestation-free commitments, and/or performance-based nature finance mechanisms (e.g REDD+ programs) is a plus.&amp;nbsp;
